Dog Groomer - PuppyLUV INC dba Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming

Locations: Midtown Sacramento, CA and Park Place Natomas, CA Job Type: Full-Time/ Part-Time

Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming is your neighborhood pet store specializing in professional pet grooming and premium pet products. We are passionate about providing a fun, safe, and caring environment for pets - and we're looking for a skilled groomer to join our pack!

Job Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services (bathing, brushing, hair cutting/styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc.) according to breed standards and pet parents requests
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sanitizing grooming tools and stations.
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
• Communicate clearly with pet parents about grooming styles, health concerns, and special requests.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and any concerns observed during grooming sessions.
• Provide basic pet care advice to customers, including tips on maintenance between grooming appointments.
• Assist with animal handling in other areas as needed, including during veterinary visits or while managing kennel operations.
• Follow safety and salon protocols to ensure the well-being of pets and staff
• Handle pets with patience, compassion, and care

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of various breeds’ grooming requirements. (Portfolio or references preferred).
• Strong skills in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safe interactions with pets.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple animals with compassion and patience.
• Experience in dog training, veterinary technician or assistant roles is highly desirable.
• Detail oriented and committed to cleanliness and safety.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment.
