Job Description

Director, DoorDash for Business Growth Strategy & Operations at DoorDash summary:

The Director of Growth Strategy & Operations at DoorDash for Business leads cross-functional teams to define and execute growth initiatives targeting diverse business audiences. Responsibilities include creating seamless at-work meal experiences, optimizing marketing funnels, and using data-driven experiments to improve user engagement and operational efficiency. This role demands strategic thinking, analytical expertise, and leadership in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

About the Team
DoorDash for Business provides meals solutions to companies, but we aren't stopping there. Our mission is to become an indispensable part of how people work across the globe, starting with meals. We are building an entrepreneurial, customer-obsessed, and fast moving team to create the right products and services for the future of work, from catering and group meal solutions to new employee perks and benefits.
About the Role
As a Director of S&O for DoorDash for Business, you will be responsible for defining, executing and optimizing growth initiatives to provide our audiences with an incredible user experience, with an immediate focus on end users and small teams. From creating the right "at work" experience for DoorDash app users to defining our self-serve marketing funnel, you will work cross-functionally across other teams within strategy & operations, product, engineering, analytics, marketing and many more. You will manage a team of direct and indirect reports and report into the Senior Director and General Manager for DoorDash for Business.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will...
  • Build. You'll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash for Business and will define our growth strategy across audiences: from Fortune 500 enterprises to small start-up companies, from administrators and workplace managers to end users. You'll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details.
  • Strategize. From first principles, you'll develop the optimal strategy for best serving our customers.
  • Experiment. You'll transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing your larger initiative implementation plans.
  • Analyze. You'll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data.
  • Lead and collaborate. You'll work with a cross-functional team, including marketing, design, product, and operations to build this new line of business for DoorDash.
We're excited about you because...
  • You solve problems from first principles. You're excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist "this is how it's always been done" thinking.
  • You're customer focused. You are able to identify consumer pain points, lead with the consumer front of mind and build go to market strategy to enhance our consumer experience.
  • You're equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you're just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.
  • You're analytical. You let data win arguments, and you're comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modeling in Excel.
  • You're unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
  • You have 10+ years of experience. You've succeeded in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, startups or a related experience).
  • You are a leader. You have 3+ years of experience managing teams.
